You are making this site better as you browse
When you keep RefWeb.net open in a browser tab and use it to navigate to the sites you use, you are helping us determine which of the sites are most popular, in order to adapt the site to your needs.
Submitting a link
If you have found some site useful and would like to see it listed here, you can submit it easily after a quick registration.
All links listed in this site are reviewed by a moderator to ensure that they contain useful information. Due to this it might take a few days for your link to appear
Url
This field contains the site’s address. Unless you are pointing to some specific service provided by a site, it’s better to remove any unnesessary directories from the address (such as “/intl/en/” or “/?search=something”) and submit only the domain part (i.e. http://www.something.com).
Please do not place referral codes in the links you add, as they will be removed before the link becomes visible.
Categories
Sites in RefWeb.net are divided into three major categories, in relation to their use.
Information
The information category contains sites you usually search in, such as search engines as well as databases and wikis containing information.
Resources
As resources we categorize the sites where content such as sofware, multimemedia or games can be downloaded or viewed.
Services
The Services category contains sites that offer particular services, such as email or instant messaging.
News
In News we categorize sites that post material related to current events, either generic or in a particular field. Most blogs probably go in this category.
The categories under those should be pretty self explanatory.
Don’t worry if you are unsure of the category a link would fall in. You can try your best guess or leave it empty, and a moderator will take care of it.
Descriptions
The description stored with a link will be displayed when someone hovers over it.
If you have something brief to write about the site and what’s it best for, you can enter it in the description field. An easy way to get a good description is to google that site’s address and see what it says under the result. Most major sites have a carefully phrased description there.
As with the categories, if you can’t think of anything, leave it blank and a moderator will take care of it.
